I finally added my second cpu and 32 additional gigs of memory into my dual cpu machine. Now, everytime I try to render anything with the scanline renderer after a second or two I get the "3ds max application has stopped working" error mssg. After some Googling I noticed other people saying that it also happens when launching the material editor, so I tried that and yes, it crashes upon launch.
I switched renderers, Vray, MR, and Finalrender all work fine, and even launch the material editor without a problem but the second I switch back to scanline if the material editor is open it crashes immediately.
I tried unchecking the "use multi threading" checkbox but that didn't help.
I am using 3ds max 2013 x 64 with product update 6 with Win 7 x 64 ultimate, my machine has 2 Xeon cpu's with 64 gb ram. Everything was fine until I installed the second cpu yesterday (Btw I have run diagnostics on the hardware and everything checks out). Also I am using a Titan graphics card with the latest catalyst drivers.
I really don't want to have to re-install everything over if I don't have to.
Anybody have any suggestions? :(
