It's finally here, the moment you've been waiting for!
FurryBall 4 Beta 2 for 3DS Max
For 64-bit 3DS Max 2013, 2014 (tested, can work on older versions)
This is still a trial of course and contains a watermark
Download version: 4.0.0.2784:
Installation instructions from their website:
Step 1 - Installing
For correct work of FurryBall renderer you must do next steps:
Disable Autodesk Material plugin
Create folder stdplugs_disabled in 3DS max install directory (default is: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2013\). After that move file AutodeskMaterial.dlt from stdplugs directory into new created stdplugs_disabled.
Turn off Gamma
FurryBall uses own gamma settings, so for correct working you must disable gamma correction from 3DS Max settings (from 3DS Max menu select Customize -> Preferences..., select tab Gamma and LUT, uncheck Enable Gamma/LUT Correction).
Step 2 - Loading plugin
FurryBall is a standard 3DS Max plugin DLR file. To load and use FurryBall just a few simple steps need to be done:
Add FurryBall plugin directory into plugin directories
From 3DS Max menu select Customize -> Configure System Paths..., select tab 3rd Party Plug-Ins, click on Add... button select FurryBall install directory (default is: C:\Program Files\FurryBall) and change Label to FurryBall Plugin for example. Click on Use Path button. After that please restart 3DS Max.
Select FurryBall renderer
Now you can select FurryBall renderer as your renderer in render setup dialog (from 3DS Max menu select Rendering -> Render Setup... or simple press on F10 key).
In Common tab you can change FurryBall renderer in Assign Renderer section. You can select FurryBall Renderer for both Production and ActiveShade renderers.
If you can use rendered icons in material editor, please use Default Scanline Renderer for material editor.
I will post new versions as they become available
