Now many would argue that Camtasia is the best desktop screen capture program to use.. and for me I want to say hell no. Camtasia screen recorder only records well in it's on Techsmith proprietary codec that does not work in Adobes products (Premiere, After Effects) and I haven't been able to get it to work well in Final Cut. SO that leaves me with working in Techsmiths crappy NLE Camtasia Studio... So now I have to transcode my capture in order to work in a REAL NLE and that not only takes ages but it also degrades the video quality even further (it's impractical to transcode from techshit lossy codec to uncompressed). So I hope you can imagine how frustrating this is.
For those that don't know FRAPS is NOT a desktop capture software! It's an excellent VIDEO capture software and will work with game and the like but will not work to record your actions on your desktop.
SO with FRAPS aside and Techshit established in this post... what is the best (for real world workflow) desktop screen capture software that also records mic audio as well as system audio?
