The Fight Club Report.
Over the past month we have have been investigating the syndicate known as Fight Club.
The original intentions of the FXPHD group buys and later Fight Club were to be a group buy operation that shared the costs of the high end tutorial range such as FXPHD and CGS workshops. The tutorials would then be distributed amongst the people who contributed to the group buy, then later released to the community.
However over the past 18 months 5 group buy poolings have come and gone, and the original promise of releasing tutorials from the group buys has mostly been unfulfilled apart from threads designed to tease the general CGP users and encourage joining the Fight Club, with a massive list of FXPHD tutorials many unreleased or brought by the Fight Club.
Example:A user DOES have the right to not share tutorials they have if they dont want to, Teasing users with a list of tutorials, that users know the only way they could be able to access them all would be to join their paid membership of Fight Club. Basically this looks like teasing to join a VIP section.
Check out some of the request threads for high end tutorials, we guarantee you will see a post from Trebort there saying the Fight Club has this tutorial Join our group or "Fight Club".
A few examples below.
A group buy does not work like the subscription/entrance fee method being used by Fight Club. It is getting more and more like what we see on many imitation forums and blogs; put simply a VIP Club, something the founders and operators of Cgpersia unanimously stand against.
Furthermore behind the scenes, dark dealings have been going on that many people may not be aware of. A member here by the name of Gfxmaster45 has traded a lot of tutorials with the Fight Club but has also been setting up fake group buys and taking tutorials from the Fight Clubs private ftp vault and selling them for his own gain, we will deal with him shortly. What is more shocking is that Trebort is still willing to deal with this joker, after what he had done to members here.
More troubling information is what is the money going towards? For example a staff member received a tutorial from a Fight Club member.CGWorkshops Environmental Texturing

We just dont know as this information is not public knowledge. If it transpired that the group buy members money was going towards other tutorials it was not intended for or being pocketed by the operators then this is very deceiving by the people who run this group.
To conclude, we will not allow Fight Club group buys to be setup or ran within our network, under their current practices, due to the massive amount of inside reports we've received on how they choose to handle the pools, and as there's no proper transparency or oversight to their operations. Major reform and proper transparency could bring them back, if those within are willing to look, and call out the bullshit within their operation. An Operation like Fight Club that promotes exclusivity are one way to destroy a community built on equality. If we let this continue running in its current state, what sets us apart from the rest? And whats to stop VIP groups for software, plugins and 3dmodels being set up?
If you still want to participate in future Fight Club buys on their VIP site, then go for it. We are not your parents, but be very careful who you give your money too, and dont come crying to us when if you get screwed over because we definitely warned you.
